Messages

The following tables show the messages that the installation program and the rcutil

configuration program may generate, with the possible causes why the messages are

shown.

Installation Phase

These messages are shown during installation phase.

Error Messages

Message Possible Cause

Please install the Motif library.

The <library> is missing.

Shown by install script if it fails to

detect the Motif <library> in the system.

FATAL ERROR: Cannot parse command line

parameters due to lack of memory.

Failed to allocate memory for storing the

command line parameter values.

ERROR: Cannot find the server named

<servername> in the network.

<servername> cannot be detected using

nslookup or host system utility

programs..

ERROR: Cannot find the printer named

<printername> in the network.

<printername> cannot be detected using

nslookup or host system utility

programs.

ERROR: Failed to detect platform info Failed to allocate memory for detecting

platform info.

ERROR: Failed to read new driver path Prompt for driver path failed.

ERROR: Failed to initialize driver installation info. Cannot allocate memory for DriverInfo data

structure.

FATAL ERROR: Cannot allocate string buffer. Failed to allocate memory for a string

buffer.

ERROR: Failed to read new manpage path. Prompt for CORE filter manpage path

failed.

ERROR: Failed to read new manpage path

Prompt for rcutil manpage path failed.

ERROR: Failed to read new UI Link Path

Prompt for rcutil link path (eg. /opt)

failed.

ERROR: Failed to read new temporary files path. Prompt for the temporary files path failed.
